Welcome to Am I Cooked? (amicookedgrades.com). We are committed to protecting your privacy. Because we are a privacy-first, client-side application, we collect almost nothing by design. This policy explains exactly what data exists, where it lives, and who can see it.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

StudentVue Credentials & Grade Data

When you use the StudentVue import feature, your username, password, and district URL are sent directly from your browser to your school district's server. Our Vercel serverless function acts solely as a CORS proxy to forward the request, it does not log, cache, store, or inspect your credentials or any grade data returned by the district.

Specifically, we never:

• Store your StudentVue password on our servers
• Log your username or district URL to any database
• Record, transmit, or retain your grades, assignment names, class names, or teacher names
• Create user accounts or profiles of any kind

All grade data processing (category calculations, hypothetical assignments, grade projections) happens entirely within your browser. When you close the page, that data exists only in your browser's local storage if you chose to save it.

Manual Calculator Data

When you use the manual finals calculator or GPA calculator, the numbers you enter are processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is transmitted to any server.

2. Information We Store Locally

We use your browser's localStorage (not cookies, not server-side storage) to save the following on your device only:

• Login preferences: If you check "remember login on this device," your district URL and username are saved locally. Your password is also saved locally if you choose this option, it never leaves your device.
• Hypothetical sandbox state: Any hypothetical assignments, dropped assignments, or score overrides you create are stored locally so they persist between visits.
• Manual calculator state: Your last-entered class name, current grade, final weight, and target grade are saved locally for convenience.
• Theme preference: Your light/dark mode choice is saved locally.

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by clicking "forget" in the app, or by clearing your browser's site data for amicookedgrades.com. We have no access to this data, it exists only on your device.

3. Third-Party Analytics & Advertising

To keep this tool free, we use the following third-party services that may collect anonymized data:

Vercel Web Analytics

We use Vercel's built-in analytics to understand basic traffic patterns: page views, general geographic region, device type, and browser type. This data is aggregated and anonymized. It is not linked to individual users or identities, and Vercel does not sell this data.

Google AdSense

We partner with Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. These cookies allow Google to:

• Serve ads based on your interests (personalized advertising)
• Limit the number of times you see a specific ad
• Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns

You may opt out of personalized advertising at any time by visiting Google's Ad Settings. You can also visit aboutads.info to opt out of third-party advertising cookies more broadly.

4. Cookies

Am I Cooked? itself does not set any cookies. However, our third-party advertising partner (Google AdSense) may set cookies on your device. These are third-party cookies used for ad personalization and measurement. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time.

Our own data storage uses localStorage, which is technically distinct from cookies, it is not sent with HTTP requests and cannot be accessed by third parties.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR (European Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation:

• Right of Access: You can request to know what data we hold about you. Since we don't maintain any user database, the answer is: none.
• Right to Erasure: You can delete all locally stored data by clearing your browser's site data for amicookedgrades.com. Since we hold no server-side data about you, there is nothing for us to delete.
• Right to Restriction of Processing: You can disable JavaScript or use an ad blocker to prevent third-party scripts from running.
• Right to Data Portability: Since all data is stored locally in your browser, you already have full control and access to it.
• Right to Object: You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings linked above.

6. Your Rights Under CCPA (California Users)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act grants you specific rights:

• Right to Know: You can request disclosure of what personal information we collect. We do not collect or store personal information on our servers.
• Right to Delete: You can clear all locally stored data through your browser settings.
• Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information. Third-party advertising through Google AdSense may constitute a "sale" under CCPA's broad definition, you can opt out via Google's Ad Settings.
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we do not maintain a database of users or collect any personal data server-side, we hold no records that could be attributed to children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through a third-party service on our site, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

8. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to update this privacy policy at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
